Nouri Yetgin is the guitarist and songwriter for Dutch-Slovak deathcore band Distant and a VanderMeij signature artist. His Fleshweaver is a limited-run, 7-string, 28-inch-scale X-shaped guitar built, per VanderMeij, for "the heaviest and lowest tunings," with a handwound signature pickup. He also plays VanderMeij's Magistra model. Distant's own confirmed tuning isn't public; downtempo deathcore, the band's genre, is built around extreme low tunings like Drop A and below.
Nouri Yetgin co-founded Distant in 2014 with bassist Elmer Maurits, and has written and played guitar for the deathcore band across its full discography since, from 2019's Tyrannotophia through 2026's Into Despair. Distant records and tours as a Rotterdam, Netherlands, and Bratislava, Slovakia-based act, and signed to Century Media Records ahead of 2023's Heritage.

Yetgin is a VanderMeij signature artist. Beyond the brand's Magistra model, he co-developed his own signature instrument, the Fleshweaver, an X-shaped 7-string built in a limited run of 25. Per VanderMeij's own spec sheet: 28-inch scale, a Sungkai body, three-piece glued hard maple neck, Macassar ebony fretboard, stainless steel jumbo frets, and original USA Hipshot hardtail bridge and locking tuners. It carries a single handwound Fleshweaver bridge pickup, ceramic-magnet and high output, which VanderMeij says is built for "down-tuned chugs" and cutting through a dense mix.
VanderMeij's own copy describes the Fleshweaver as designed to work "even with the heaviest and lowest tunings," which lines up with downtempo deathcore's genre convention: extreme low tunings, typically Drop A and below on a 7-string. That said, no interview or spec sheet we could find pins down Yetgin's own confirmed tuning, so this page treats it as genre context rather than a documented personal spec.
