The Premier years
Keith Moon signed an exclusive endorsement deal with Premier Drums on September 6, 1965, and stayed with the brand for the rest of his career, from a standard 4-piece kit through the elaborate double-bass, multi-tom touring rigs of the Tommy and Quadrophenia eras. The relationship lasted until his death in 1978.

The Vic Firth signature stick
Vic Firth built the SKM at the invitation of and in consultation with the Keith Moon Estate, matching the Premier "C" stick Moon actually played. His daughter, Amanda DeWolf, is quoted saying the family chose Vic Firth specifically because "we have accurately replicated the design and provided the enhanced quality that Vic Firth is renowned for."
